The Pros:Makes excellent root beer floats. Sweet and smooth aftertaste- not bitter like some root beer. Available at most grocery stores- at least in Canada.

A&W is a popular brand of root beer available primarily in Canada and the US. A&W restaurants are equally as popular and have served people burgers and fries since it'screation in 1922. The root beer was first sold in 1919 by way of a roadside stand in California for the price of 5 cents.

Both have been successful ever since and are both widely available across North America. Outside of Canada, the rights to the A&W brand are owned by Dr. Pepper Snapple Group while in Canada the A&W Food Services of Canada is responsible for the restaurants while bottling is handled exclusively by Coca-Cola. A&W Root Beer is available in a diet version and a cream soda version, both of which were introduced in 1986.
